Steampunk Girl 1

So, Em and I were talking about Steampunk and doing face art and then I was inspired...I think this one will end up with my daughter rather than on Etsy.

I like how this one turned out!  I named her "Emily Dragonfly," because she looks like my niece, Emily Grace.  :)

She looks like a Virginia.  Maybe a Ginny.  I have a cousin named Ginny and I think this girl reminds me of her.
She is kind of intense.  I think this makes her more interesting.  She reminds me of someone but I can't put my finger on it.
I like the bird and the dragonfly in this one, she looks like a Christine.
I love how you do this art.  You paint a background and then you add the face, and you don't really plan what the face will look like so its a surprise every time.  And then you add all sorts of stuff around the face until it looks right.  :)

Violet eyes

My third face today.  Sometimes I just go gangbusters; its like when I'm in the zone I have to just keep on going.  I'm liking the eye shading and the lips, and her features all seem to be even!  Yay!

Pretty and happy

I really like this one!  Such a great expression.  She's very pleased with her purple hair lol.  This one makes me happy.  :)
Busy day today, I finished 2 face paintings.  This one is kind of dark, but I like her expression.  Hair is always a challenge; I'm not sure I like the white "cloud" she has all around her, lol.

Holly and Aidan playing in the yard

Painting of Holly and Aidan playing in the yard.
I had not been doing any art for quite a while; I would start a project and then lose interest, not sure why.  I'm also not sure what sparked my motivation to start painting again, but the urge just kind of happens and then I have to paint. So this is the result, and it has inspired me to do more art.
"Goldfinch Girl."  The second face painting completed.  She seems really dreamy.  And calm.

One of my first attempts at painting faces.  They look fine as long as I don't try to paint a certain person!  I am really liking painting eyes.
This is a new journey, starting a blog.  I am not certain about my destination, but I will let it take me where it goes!  There will be art!
